A connector – known as an abutment (B) – is placed on top of the dental implant to hold and support your crowns. The crowns are custom-made to match your natural teeth and fit your mouth (C).

ZYGOMA & PTERYGOID IMPLANTS
We are one of very few offices in Southern California that treat patients with severe bone loss.
Using advanced zygoma and pterygoid implants we treat patients that were told, “there is nothing we can do for you.” In most cases, these patients may have teeth in a day, from a removable denture to a fixed implant-supported functioning and esthetic restoration.
Zygoma implants differ from conventional dental implants in that they anchor into the zygomatic bone rather than the maxilla. Zygomatic and pterygoid implants are two types of long implants that are used when the patient has insufficient quantity or quality of bone to anchor implants.
